End of Year Madness

Submitted By: Helena Li

It’s almost May, which means there is only one month of school left! However, this doesn’t mean students get any slack in high school, school is just as busy as ever. In fact, this might be the worst time of year for many students since AP exams take place during the first two weeks of May. With exams that are or more than 2 hours long and many students taking multiple exams, these weeks involve many late nights up studying and cramming last minute information in order to get that 5. It can be very stressful, but always remember it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get a 5; staying healthy and happy is more important than any score on a test.

This time of year is also marked by saying goodbye to seniors as they head on to college. The seniors at my school just had their last day of school on Wednesday which included senior pranks like balloons everywhere or writing on windows. The day after, seniors also get to enjoy junior senior prom. Juniors and seniors did not have to attend school. The guys had a golf outing and girls could spend the day getting ready for prom in the evening. Prom is always a fun event and a great way to celebrate the end of the year with all your friends.

The end of the year also means final exams during the last week of school. Some just give up, or some don’t care what happens during exam week, but I have to say, most study hours and hours to get a last boost of their grade, Although this time of year is as busy as ever, it’s also a great time of year, especially in Michigan. The weather is finally getting warm, and summer is just around the corner!
