Why Should You Avoid Vaping?

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health. Smoking harms nearly every organ in your body, including your heart. Nearly one-third of deaths from heart disease are the result of smoking and secondhand smoke. You might be tempted to turn to electronic cigarettes as a way to ease the transition from traditional cigarettes to not smoking at all.

Nicotine causes an increase in blood pressure, heart rate, flow of blood to the heart, and narrowing of the arteries. It may also contribute to hardening of the arterial walls, or arteriosclerosis, which can play a role in heart attacks. Since many vaping devices are used for nicotine, it stands to reason that vaping may also raise the risk of heart disease. Preliminary research suggests that vaping may be linked to a higher risk of stroke, heart attacks, and heart disease.

Many children and young adults who did not smoke cigarettes began vaping after being lured by the flavors. When vaping was first introduced, it was sometimes used as a smoking alternative tool although it was not approved by the FDA for this purpose. Patients would start out with a high-nicotine vape and then gradually replace it with water until they were getting almost no nicotine. This method became another addiction to another device that delivers nicotine.

In conclusion, we don’t know what’s in the vape and current history shows that this is a good example of what can happen when you take something unknown into your body. Bad consequences can occur. Nicotine is the reason why it is highly addictive making you crave a smoke and suffer withdrawal symptoms if you ignore the craving. These reasons should make you avoid vaping and other bad practices to avoid heart attacks and other drawbacks.
