FDA reject Neuro link human trials

Some context on Neurolink, so Neuralink is a company founded by Elon Musk and they aim to create a technology to merge the human brain with AI (artificial intelligence). The idea is to make a tin device where it is implanted inside the human brain and would allow them to connect and control computers and other electronic devices just with a single thought. It would also allow the user to communicate with the computer through signals from the brain. The goal is that this technology will eventually be able to help people with neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease or spinal cord injuries, to regain control of their movements. It could also be used to enhance cognitive abilities, such as memory and learning. The potential benefits of this technology is vast, and it could help to improve the lives of many people in the future. But who did the FDA reject human trials? 

Reuters reported that the FDA had rejected Neuralink’s application to do human trials. This could mean that Neuralink’s rejection in getting an official approval for human tests may indicate that the regulatory agencies responsible for approving such tests, such as the FDA in the United States identified issues with the safety or ethical implications of the technology.  So ether Neurolink has not provided enough evidence to demonstrate that their technology is safe and effective for use in human or the regulatory agencies have identified issues with the technology

It’s worth noting that many new technologies go through multiple rounds of testing and iteration before they are approved for human use. If Neuralink is able to address the issues identified by the regulatory bodies and provide additional data to support the safety and efficacy of their technology, they may eventually receive approval for human testing. However, until that happens, it’s difficult to say what the rejection means for the future of Neuralink and their brain-machine interface technology.
