Tired of ordering at Lazy Dog every other day? Frustrated from not getting a bang-for-your-buck because of Doordash’s insanely high markup? If so, here are some underrated spots for you!
- Ringer Hut
If you’re looking for large portions of authentic Japanese food for under $15, Ringer Hut’s the place for you. Open from 11:30 am to 6:45 pm, it’s hard to top the diversity that Ringer Hut offers — the restaurant has more than 150 items on its menu. Even with such a large menu, one of the most expensive (and popular) items, the tonkatsu curry rice, only costs $14.50. Additional popular items include deep fried chicken for $7.25, teriyaki chicken donburi for $9.25, and crispy takoyaki for $7.00.
- Freedom Burrito
Like Ringer Hut, everything on the menu is less than $15, with the restaurant’s signature Freedom Burrito (a flour tortilla filled with your choice of meat, whole beans, rice, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and shrimp grilled with onions and bell peppers) costing $11.25 and with tacos costing just $3.25. Portions are massive — the Freedom Burrito, which rivals Chipotle in price, is larger than a normal Chipotle burrito and is easily enough for two friends to share.
- Hash House
Open from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm, Hash House is a great spot to get breakfast if you’re tired of eating cereal at home or ordering an Egg McMuffin at McDonalds. It’s hard to top a full plate containing a biscuit, fried chicken, scrambled egg and bacon topped with cheddar cheese for $15.95. The restaurant’s hash browns, which truly do live up the venue’s name, cost under $5 to purchase, and they even offer vegan friendly veggie hashes; be sure to check them out!
