Foam Rolling

For a better workout, consider using a foam roller before and after your exercise routine. Using a foam roller is a form of self-myofascial release, where a low-level force is dragged across layers of soft tissue, restoring mobility between those layers of tissue.

Myofascial release helps with physique building, a faster recovery time, and injury prevention. Other benefits include increased blood flow and range of motion, elevating a routine workout to a higher level.

To use a foam roller, place the area of muscle you want to roll out onto the roller and use your bodyweight to apply pressure while you move the roller back and forth against your muscles. Some areas to pay attention to are your calves, quads, and upper back. These areas often hold tension and are used in many exercises. Rolling them out will prevent injury and leave you feeling less sore after your workout.
