Cheering Yourself Up

Everyone has their bad days: you might have had a bad day at school or work, or you have gotten into an argument with your friend. When you’re feeling down, take some time to make yourself feel better.

Let your emotions out. Talk to your friends and family. Call them and tell them about your problems. Your friends and family will be there to support you if you need them. Letting out your emotions, rather than bottling them up, will make you feel better. If you can’t reach your support team, talk to your pet or even talk to a stuffed animal. Getting the negative thoughts out is important to start feeling better.

Take your mind off your problems and relax. Letting your feelings out is essential, but you still might feel down. Instead of focusing on something you dislike, such as homework or a project, take a moment for yourself. Change into comfortable clothes, get a snack, and read a book or watch a movie. It doesn’t really matter what you do, as long as it makes you happy and keeps you from thinking about whatever’s bothering you. Let yourself calm down so you can look back on the problem later with a clear head.

Feeling bad about something isn’t uncommon, but there are always ways to feel better. Make sure to keep yourself happy.
