On early Saturday morning of March 19th, a Boeing 737 passenger jet crashed as it was landing in southern Russia, causing the deaths of the 61 people aboard— 55 passengers and 6 crew members.
According to the country’s Southern Regional Emergency Center, the airplane had been descending, preparing to land at the Rostov-on-Don airport in southern Russia, when this crash occurred. Due to high winds and low visibility, the passenger jet was difficult to land.
